The Vapiano story

“Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano” – according to an Italian saying, “If you have an easy-going and relaxed approach to life, you’ll live more healthily and longer”. This lifestyle has been reality every day at Vapiano for our colleagues – the Vapianisti – as well as our guests since the opening of the very first restaurant on 22 October 2002 in the “Hohe Bleichen” area of Hamburg, Germany.

Just two years later, the founders decided to take on the world. To date, more than 200 Vapianos in 32 countries across five continents have been opened. We are actively looking for new sites across the world.

Vapiano has a relaxed atmosphere, where you can meet friends, family and business partners and that’s why there is to a specific dress code.

All our 11 different pasta shapes (including 2 spelt ones), our pizza dough, sauces and dressings, and our pesto are also all made in each and every restaurant from the freshest ingredients, which is why we don’t have a central production facility.
